Alright folks, we’ve got a problem.
They’re deporting Americans.
I keep hearing people call Kilmar a “Maryland man,” a “wrongly deported” man, and/or “someone who’s here legally,” et cetera. That all may be true, however. You want to know what else he is?
He’s an American man.
He’s been here for 14 years.
His family is here.
He belongs here.
Like so many brave American immigrants who came before him, he reached America through hell and high water, in pursuit of a better life, and he made that life here.
He’s an immigrant— what’s more American than that?
Kilmar is just as much of an American as I am.
The administration’s violent, lawless removal of him is an affront to me and my rights as an American. It is an affront to all of us.
Now, there are fools, like Steven Miller and Steve Bannon, who want to redefine what it means to be an American. They can try, but they will not succeed. We real Americans know better. We know that we know better.
Let us not divide ourselves into different classes of legal status.
Let us not allow these fools to pick us apart little by little until every real American is gone.
Let us call Kilmar Abrego Garcia what he is— an American. Period.
They’re deporting Americans.
All across America, the people are raising their voices. The conservative Supreme Court has raised its voice in a unanimous ruling ordering the administration to bring him home. Democrats in Congress are taking action and putting their bodies in the line of fire. Good.
We all must take action.
We all must raise our voices in unison to say, Mr. President, bring him home.
Bring him back.
Bring him home.
Bring him back to America.
He is an American, and it’s where he belongs.
