This!!! Especially agree with you about numbers 2, 3, and 5. This “flooding the zone” has definitely left me feeling overwhelmed and drowned in it.

To name the most personally irritating: when people compare America to The Handmaid’s Tale, it becomes hard to take the rest of their argument seriously. It’s a sentiment that really only resonates with people who already agree. Regardless of one’s views on abortion, pre-Roe America wasn’t Atwood’s Gilead. Some people need to put down their phones and open a history book. Like you said: do we have actual problems, or fictional ones? And for that matter, it’s honestly disrespectful to millions of oppressed women around the world who lack so many rights that we enjoy.

I wish we could find a middle ground online between performative emotivism and toxic, reactionary trolling.
