Thanks Sarah! I enjoyed this piece. Your blogs help me keep current on what’s going on in the world. I particularly like the points regarding global warming.
We seriously need to stop rewarding "flooding the zone" behavior and feeding the emotional outrage algorithm. In addition to non-MAGA people not "flooding the zone" themselves, as you described in Part 1, we should hold one another to doing the same. IMO we can and should choose to stop giving our time and attention to the most sensational headlines or reacting to the most extreme posts, especially when facts are at times lacking. If we don't, there's no collective incentive to change.
And to your point, some things like mocking Trump for changing his mind in our favor, are just crazy - like c'mon do they actually want the trade war? Changing one's mind for the better is not a sin. If Trump thinks that no matter what he does he can never win with moderates and liberals, why would he listen about anything?
Thanks Marie! Yes, I agree and I think it’s really hard to do— to not give into clicking on the most outrageous of stories, especially since we still need to pay some amount of attention to be informed citizens and supportive community members.
I think we have a collective desire for change, but it’s harder to put into practice than it is to say we’ll do in theory.
On your last point, I’m reminded of Trump saying in his address to a joint session of Congress that the Dems just hate him and they’ll never like him no matter what he does. I’ve thought about including this in a piece and I might as I think it’s interesting to discuss!

Thanks Mom! There’ll definitely be more on global warming to come! (On my blog and unfortunately, in the world)
Good job Sarah. Well written and presents a constructive approach to the stated issues. MAM
Thanks Uncle Mike, I appreciate it!
